Hollywood journeywomen hit Melbourne for script development seminar
Oscar-winning screenwriter of WITNESS (dir. Peter Weir), Pamela Wallace, and leading US studio executive, Kathie Fong Yoneda arrive in Melbourne next week to host a weekend seminar entitled STORY, SCRIPT & SCREEN at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image on 22-23 May.
Kathie has worked as a development executive at Disney, Fox and Paramount amongst other Studios and has read over 17,000 scripts. Together with Pamela, who has also written some of the most successful movies on US television, they will conduct a systematic examination on the art and craft of script creation and selling.
Presented by Popcorn Taxi Events, and sponsored by Encore Magazine, ShowFilm and the Australian Writers' Guild, this weekend seminar is highly interactive and concludes with a "pitchfest" that allows participants a chance to get positive feedback on presenting their story ideas. Kathie and Pam are living proof that you can survive and prosper in Hollywood without becoming a caricature from Robert Altman's THE PLAYER.
Tickets for the two day seminar are $395, or $360 for AWG members, and bookings can be made at the ACMI Box Office on 03 8663 2583.
