Charlottes Web location fundraiser - 25 November, 2007
Following the recent filming of the Hollywood film “Charlotte’s Web” at Greendale near Ballan, Ballarat residents are invited to travel on the train to visit the property on the Ballan-Greendale Road which was used as the location for filming the movie and see the American–style barn built on the property for the film. The farm will be open on Sunday 25 November between 10am and 4pm. Charlotte’s Fair, which will raise money for the Ballan Hospital, will include food, music and entertainment, with country and jazz bands, and free children’s events through the day, including traditional games such as egg and spoon races and an animal farm. People are advised to bring their own chairs. If Ballarat people going to the Fair catch the 10.32am, 11.32am or 1.12pm train services, they will be met at the Ballan Railway Station by complimentary buses which will deliver them to Charlotte’s Fair. Buses will leave the Fair in time to catch trains which arrive at the Ballarat Railway Station at 2.54pm and 4.33pm. Tickets are $10 for Adults, Concession $5 and a Family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children is $20. Tickets are for the Fair only and do not include train fares. For tickets and information, call 5368 1100. The filming of “Charlotte’s Web” was supported by Film Ballarat Hepburn & Beyond which assists film production companies by scouting for specific locations, gaining approvals, and finding facilities, expertise, accommodation, catering and transport.
