iMOVIE / iLIFE: SIMPLE EDITING FOR NON-EDITORS
June 2005
Apple’s iLife package comes shipped with every new Macintosh computer running OSX, and serves as a basic image and sound indexing and manipulation package, including iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD.
iMovie is a simple digital video editing tool and can be used to make simple sequences ƒƒ†’ƒ†€™ƒƒ‚ƒ€š‚ƒ…‚ƒƒ†’ƒ‚…ƒƒ€šƒ‚‚ for example trailers, pitch tapes, show reels or basic scene compilations.
iDVD allows you to use videos edited in iMovie in polished DVD presentation, and burn them to DVD on computers with DVD burners.
By the end of the course, participants should be able to use iMovie to complete an edit with simple sound effects and graphic elements and burn it to a custom DVD, using the iDVD package.
The course will be conducted in a workshop style, with a combination of presentations, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
It is ideal for producers, directors and teachers of media who want to explore simple digital editing options.
