GETTING the BEST PICTURES and SOUND from MINI DV

This weekend course is ideal for filmmakers who intend to shoot their own material (short dramas, documentaries, research projects or promos) on Mini DV format.
Two of the industry’s most experienced practitioners, Peter Zakharov (camera) and Mark Tarpey (sound), will present techniques for getting the best picture and sound out of a Mini DV camera.
Participants will have access to the most commonly used Mini DV picture and sound equipment.
COURSE DIRECTORS
Peter Zakharov, a director of photography for over twenty years, has extensive experience in drama and documentary. Some of his credits include TAKEAWAY, BEWARE OF GREEKS BEARING GIFTS, VISIONS OF YANKALILLA, THE HILLMEN and FOR THE DEFENCE.
Mark Tarpey has recorded sound on every type of production using all types of gear, including Mini DV, in a career spanning 30 years. He has two AFI awards and five nominations to his credit.
