Overview
Like many attractions across the Pyrenees Shire, the name of this little township reflects the attachment the region has to its European namesake. The main street is dotted with small cafes and trattorias offering local produce and wonderful wines from the extended wine region.
History
Beaufort plays home to the century old Beaufort Band Rotunda build in 1903 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Reign, and the town’s War Memorial, built in 1927 is a one-third replica of the war memorial on Salisbury Plain in England.
